Save Web Article Highlights with the Chrome Extension

The PastReads Chrome Extension makes it effortless to capture and organize highlights from across the web.

Quick Start

Install the extension from the Chrome Web Store

Open the extension and sign in to your PastReads account

Navigate to any article or webpage you want to highlight

Select the text you want to save, right-click and choose "Save to PastReads"

Selecting Highlights in Apple Books

Your highlight will instantly appear in your PastReads library with automatic metadata capture including the article title, author, URL, and timestamp. You are also able to instantly tag, organize, or add a note to your highlight.

What Gets Captured

When you save web article highlights, PastReads automatically processes:

  • 🔍 Selected text
  • 📰 Article title and author information (when available)
  • 🌐 Source URL for easy reference back to the original
  • 📅 Timestamp of when you saved the highlight

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues:

  1. Extension Not Working

    • Try refreshing the webpage or re-starting your browser and selecting text again
  2. Context Menu Missing

    • Make sure text is properly selected before right-clicking

    • Verify your internet connection
